My snakes

I drew 3 of the snakes I own. I painted them in a pile, looking around. The background is just random. I used blue, purple, and black; colors that mix well together. Each snake has their own pattern. Pinks, browns, black, yellow and gold, with blue and grey eyes, each snake is different.
Color, contrast, form, proportion, and emphasis are some of the elements and principles I used in my snake painting. I made the background completely different colors so I could put emphasis on my snakes. They all have their own specified pattern that each consists of different colors. Each snake is around the same size, so I tried to make them each proportional to each other.
I've always wanted to have a painting of one of my many animals, but commissions can cost a lot of money and I don't have that kind of money. I knew how to draw and I needed to practice my painting skills anyways so I did. They are always piled on top of each other and I thought it was adorable so I painted them in a pile as well.
I am not entirely satisfied with this painting, but it's good for my first time at drawing snakes. I like how they turned out. The problem was the canvas I used. It was entirely meant to blend colors, so the background is scratchy in a way. It's not blended well. Because the canvas doesn't blend, I decided not to shade or add value.
