Giraffe Zentangle

Here, I have my Zentangle project. For this project, I drew a giraffe. I made the background in black and white and the animal in color. I used a thin styled sharpie for this image. I took breaks here and there but this project was spanned over 4 days. Some of the patterns I found online, others I made up myself.
Lines are going to be my most used and most noticeable element. I used lines to draw every zentangle pattern and form my giraffe. Color and contrast are used quite a bit, too. Color comes only in my giraffe. I wanted the giraffe to stand out from the background, which is black and white, so I made him in color. I contemplated on whether I should make the giraffe black/white and the background in color instead, but after many opinions from friends and family, I could finally decide. You can see the contrast from the background to the giraffe since the giraffe is in color it ultimately stands apart from the background. You can also see a little bit of depth in this image, at the bottom, the half ovals appear to be going back into the picture, enlarging the giraffe.
I drew a giraffe because they're one of my sisters favorite animals. Some of the zentangles in the background symbolize something. I wanted the giraffe to look as though it was outside, so that's exactly what I did. The wavy squares represent the clouds, the half ovals at the bottom of the paper are grass/hedges, and the huge target with arrows in it next to his head symbolizes the sun.
Judgement for this piece? Of course! I feel like this image is way to busy. Even though the giraffe is in color to stand out from the background, I think it can still be hard to make out for some, and looks a bit confusing to the eye. Other than it being a tad too busy, I like how the negative space is evenly spaced throughout the image and the colors I have chosen.
